Project 7 (5.00M33/5.02GEN):

I'm not dead, just busy. I had something more special planned for Project 7 as a lot of you probably know, but Davee has been running into one bug after another. So here I am with the CTF version of P7. Way back before I made heartbeat I had the idea for this. It was what heartbeat should have been, but wasn't. Anyway, I've customized quite a bit, but it probably isn't as detailed as ClickSlide was. There's a startup bug if you have the Classic wave selected as your background, but you can get around it by skipping the opening. Sorry that all the text isn't black, I couldn't quite fix it all. If I fix it at some point I'll be sure to post it.

ClickSlide (4.01 M33):

My greatest and most customized creation yet, ClickSlide! I've done everything from a beautiful scrolling, fully customized submenus, to a CTF Downloader being built into the XMB. There is even an alternate version with the ability to run certain homebrew straight from the XMB. The new XMB is organized so that the photo through network is only one icon. Everything else has been relocated to the new “Other Applications” menu. The idea is to simplify the XMB. Most people don’t use those extra icons, so they are no longer in the way. But they all still remain nicely organized in the Other Applications menu, except Skype. It is enabled and should appear in the menu, but doesn’t for some reason or another. I do not know how to fix this. I am sorry for all you Skype users.

With all of this, I would like to announce the new CTF Download service. By simply scrolling to ‘Download Themes’ under the Other Applications menu you can download the latest CTFs without the use of a PC. Just select your firmware and click on the theme you wish to download and my custom PRXs will download it straight to your THEME folder. Links to the PRXs will be provided for theme developers to add to their own themes.

I would also like to add that a flash0 version is not provided. Due to the heavy customizations, there is not enough space in the flash0 even after deleting the ‘dic’ folder for the theme to fit. Other modifications must be done to make it fit and many flash0 users wouldn’t know what to do to make it fit, causing mass semi-bricks. If you really want to flash0 version, just use CTF Manager v2 to get it. If you don’t know how to get the flash0 version from CTF Manager, you aren’t even remotely qualified to be installing this to the flash0.

This theme uses CXMB 3.2.1, which can be downloaded here:

- xploren, Maxexcloo, GGM_Customs, and mutevict1m for testing the theme throughout all of its stages of development and giving their input.
- Everyone who created the tools I used (RCO Editor, Hex Workshop Bookmarks, Custom Firmware).
- GGM_Customs for working with me to implement CTF downloading with his site.

Dark Apollon (4.01 M33):

A new look for my Apollon theme. -lilfibz- kindly suggested I make this while converting Apollon to 4.01 M33, and it turned out great. More or less just a modification of Apollon with a couple of new additions. For more information on Apollon, scroll down to the next theme.

Apollon (3.95 GEN & 4.01 M33):

As promised, Apollon is here. I wish I could have done more with the main menu, but the sheer size of the main icon didn't let me add more. It was cool, I had similar icons but the floating text was distributed differently. Maybe I'll figure out something by the time the 4.00 M33 version of this is out. Yes, I'm going to tweak the things that I need for the 4.00 version when its out. I don't know about the 3.90 version. Stop asking me. I'd much rather add onto this theme more for a 4.00 release, rather than hunt down offsets for the 3.90 version.

Anyway, there are a number of subtle effects I've added. For example I have the soft glow in the background if you stay on a subicon, a visually appealing battery charging animation, and minor menu navigation noise changes. No, there is no heartbeat effect this time around. Maybe next theme. Also, as you may notice, there is no custom wave or gameboot. Because of this, CXMB will just take the wave and gameboot from your flash0 if you have a custom one there. So you can use your favorite gameboots and waves without recompiling the CTF.
Feel free to leave comments on what you'd like to see in the 4.00 M33 final release.

heartbeat (3.90 M33, 3.95 GEN, & 4.01 M33):

Bring your XMB to life! Heartbeat is the only theme to this date that features background that changes color depending on the menu you are in. Click here to see a small preview.

I must say, this theme has a hell of a story behind it. A good month ago I came up with the idea of having a background that changes colors. I knew multiple ways of pulling this off, but needed a theme to put this effect in. I started off with a dock. Well it didn't look very nice. I can't make docks for my life. Then I tried another dock...memory problems galore. Well then this guy, simulacrum, made a concept image of a theme that looked strikingly similar to my latest revision of heartbeat (at the time I called Colors of Life). He couldn't actually make themes, so I told him I'd make the theme for him. Well I couldn't make it pixel for pixel, but it is mostly the same. Every hour or so I'd run into memory problems. So every hour I had to change the ENTIRE theme. Then the alignment of every single damn icon almost made my pull out my hair. I'm not too happy about some of the things I had to change (like subicon size to half), but I pulled it off.

For XMB creators, I have a tutorial here.

Crystal Blade (3.90 M33 & 4.01 M33):

After months of Halo 3 I finally got around to making this. I was sick of minimalistic and 'jumpy' themes, so I tried to think out of the box. My original idea didn't work out too well, but it may show up in a later theme I make. The bar underneath the date/time is the battery bar. It shrinks as your battery dies. With this theme I pushed the limits on icon size. The scrolling is quick yet smooth and most of the menus have been altered to fit the theme. I would like to add to all those who have downloaded this theme before that I have fixed the memory issues.

and everyone who found the offsets

Halo 3 HUD Theme (3.52 M33):

Video of early version.

Picture of near-final version (battery had been changed to be transparent).

This theme was originally created for this contest over at QJ.net. It, of course, inspired Crystal Blade. Only has text and the HUD image. Maybe someday I'll bring a new version of it to the latest CFW.

Thanks to:

Professor-Fate - for all your help with the theme. You really helped this come into existance (especially the battery that I absolutely LOVE. The way it works as a battery icon and busy image is kick ass).
delirumHAPPY - for being a good sport and not being rude about using an idea similar to yours.

TeXtinimalist (3.52 M33):

The first theme I ever created. I consider it a major acomplishment due to the fact that not only did I make this in 3 days (I had to learn everything along the way), but this is one of the first themes of its kind. No other theme was text-only or stationed in a corner of the XMB. I planned a version 2, but not only did I not think it worth it, but it had icons...which defeated the purpose of the text part of TeXtinimalist.

Thanks to:

delirumHAPPY - for helping me learn how to make themes.

WhippedCreme & HeavyCreme (3.95 GEN & 4.01 M33):

Before I start, here is the difference between WhippedCreme and HeavyCreme as SchmilK put it:
- Whippedcreme is for those who like smaller text on the screen
- Heavycreme is for those old folk like me who prefer larger easier to read text

Now this is a project I was going to do myself until SchmilK pointed out that using one of his themes as a base made it much easier. So I worked with him on this. I give him most of the credit due to the fact that 95% of what you see in here is from his theme ScheNschiTiviTy. Plus he helped with a few parts of the editing and was there when I ran into roadblocks. I did do almost all of the editing for this theme. Still I consider this a joint project with SchmilK. Oh, and this theme has the color effect from heartbeat lightly added. Colored and uncolored versions are in the download.

-Aquatix- (3.90 M33 & 4.01 M33):

It was getting to the point with this theme where I thought it wouldn't ever even see the light of day. My friend -lilfibz- created this, but let it rot on his computer for months before finishing it. If it gives and sort of timeframe, I helped -lilfibz- with this theme right after I finished Crystal Blade. Then after making 3 more themes, converting them to 4.01 (one of them to 3.95 GEN too) with updates added to them, adding a new version of Apollon, and creating the Creme themes with SchmilK, -lilfibz- released this. I helped with aligning the text, did some minor PRX editing, and added a soft glow to the memory stick icons. Also, because this theme was released on 3.90 only, I converted it to 4.01.

Refreshened (4.01 M33):

An amazing theme by kratosjohn! This is his version of an older theme called Side XMB. My part played in this is limited. The only thing I did directly was add the nice scrolling effect. Mainly why this theme is here is because kratos used heartbeat as a base for much of the theme. He did edit the hell out of the PRXs, but a lot of paf.prx remains the same. You can see some of heartbeat in parts of the theme such as the scrolling if you scroll all the way across the XMB, the glow, the opening, and the submenus.

~Concepts & Works in Progress~

Project 7 (Concept):

The original concept for Project 7.

ClickSlide (Concept & WIP):

Video of the 3rd Alpha WIP for ClickSlide.

Something I made when I was bored and had looked at too many of Simulacrum's concepts.
Not my icons. They were made by deleket of deviantart.
Take note that I have other subicons mixed with the settings menu
to create an special menu just for the less used submenus.
I want to have the common submenus have a more unique appearance,
almost as if this were a PDA or iPhone (*hiss*) of sorts.

Colors of Life (Concept & WIP):

An early version of heartbeat.

Slab of Light (Concept & WIP):

Concept art.

In-XMB screenshot. Shows working selection icon.

Neon (Concept):

Concept. XMB version started by never finished.

TeXtinimalist v2 (Concept):

Concept art. Started, but quickly abandoned.
