In Music Hurt and Heal, we were discussing P!ATD's genre, how in hell are they emo-pop????

Because they use crappy (in my opinion) pop-y vibes and sing emo (emotional) lyrics.

its emo-pop and also im an emo and i know about emo music, it is more emotional and shouting and mainly has a distorted guitar in the background, or uses a distostion pedal.
Panic at the disco are -------- they give emo music a bad name and none of my emo m8s like em.
also its emo pop because it has horrid pop vibe but still uses emotional lyrics.
and some of panic at the discos lyrics are sad but the background music is all happy or bouncy. WTF! tht doesnt make sense.

sorry, but i dont like them.

Right in reply to this i will say.

Happy music doesnt change the fact that the song is emo....Kelly (breakaway) easly consists of emo.. (i have it on my xbox's hardrive..and when i listen to it i can tell) Avrils second album, is pretty much EMO....just emo.....but it has its pop vibes, so i still class that as "Emo-pop-punk"

 Part of the Emo Genre is the depressed music, because when you look at it, every band has emotional lyrics. Does that make them all Emo? Green Day has them, Kelly has them, Avril has them, All-American Rejects have them, Relient K (and they're everything BUT emo), Ashley Simpson, Black Eyed Peas, Goo Goo Dolls, Nickelback, Bowling for Soup, Ashley Parker Angel, Three Doors Down, U2, even Fall Out Boy has emotional lyrics. Know why? Cause emotional writing is a key to a good song. Even Since U Been Gone has Emotional lyrics! Do you classify all of them as Emos? You'd have to be brain-dead to. So what I dont understand is, why classify Panic! At the Disco as them? Thats such an insult.
