 Rachel grasped the sides of the ladder tightly about a metre off the ground, then let go and allowed herself to fall the rest of the way. She arched an eyebrow at Shadic and his handiwork.
"Nice jump," she said with a smirk, "but you lose points for style." Turning her attention upwards, she spotted the other three descending the ladder and waved at them.
"Hurry up you lot," she shouted sarcastically, "or my stunning beauty shall be lost to wrinkles by the time we get anywhere!"

 Shadic snorted at Rachels comment. "Right. I would say the same about myself, but my physical appearence cannot be altered by time, and thus the comment would make no sense. I'll scout on ahead, being the fastest." He sped off immediatly. Devlin jumped off the ladder near the bottom.
"Boy, he sure doesn't waste time, does he?" He muttered.

 Rachel nodded.
"For someone who's effectively immortal," she commented, "he has a surprisingly low level of patience. Although I guess when you have that kind of speed, it'd be hard not to. We'd best not keep him waiting." She looked up at the ladder again and shouted to Tim.
"Hey Read! Are you coming or not?"
"I'm coming, I'm coming... just trying not to get myself killed..."

"You better hurry it up, then, Tim, or I'll start hurling spears!" Devlin shook his head.
"Scratch that, he has zero patience..." The falcon said.

 Pausing for a second, Timothy wondered if Shadic was being serious.
About a second later, he briefly considered going back up the ladder and moving overseas.
"Okay, hang on..." he sighed, quickening his pace. When he finally reached the bottom of the ladder, he straightened his coat and dusted himself off.
"I hope we don't have to go back up that thing later on," he stated, "My hands feel like they're burning on the inside!"

 Suddenly Shadic reappeared. He oddly had one of those large, cartoonish lumps on his forehead.
"I found the base..." He grumbled.
"What'd you DO, run into it?" Devlin asked, eyeing the lump. Shadic replied with a glare. "Thats a yes."

 "Painful," Timothy remarked with a wince, "So, what did it feel like? Wood? Metal? Concrete?" As he spoke, he dug around in his satchel and produced a small first aid kit from within.

 "Metal." Grumbled Shadic. "And I don't need a first-aid kit." He pointed a finger at his lump. "Chaos Regeneration." A small beam of yellow energy came out of his finger and hit the lump. The swelling began to go down a bit, to the point where it was unnoticable.
"Now then, lets get going." The hedgehog said. "Its this way." He strolled off down a path.

 With a small shrug and a quick glance at the heavens, Tim shoved the kit back in his bag and hoisted it over his shoulder.
"I should stop being surprised. Really," he muttered to himself thoughtfully as he followed after the others. He raised his voice to a normal level.
"So, how are we going to get inside? Without setting off every alarm in the complex I mean."

 Shadic raised an eyebrow. "By doing the exact opposite of what you just said. Breaking down the door and tearing through the place until we reach the head honcho." He shrugged. "Not much of a plan, I admit, but it works for me."
