 Is it just me, or does the giant monster's head look kind of like Black Doom?

As for the theory of the story, that sounds pretty cool. Robotnik's actually done something competent for once. But that doesn't explain the giant monster. Maybe it's the negetive energy of the Chaos Emeralds or something (kinda like Perfect Chaos) that was unleashed because of whatever Robotnik did to prevent Sonic from going super. I think there's seven of those purple fire things flying around, if I counted corretly, so that might have something to do with it.

 It could be just another alternate enemy which shows up to steal the spotlight from Robotnik now that he finally succeeds in doing something, which will be really hard to defeat due to Super Sonic not working properly, thus causing Eggman to do what he does at the end of most of the games lately, and help Sonic by giving him his powers back before the final fight.

Wow. Within less than 24 hours, we have rumors, a leak, a video, and now an Official Confirmation. It seems that Sega Europe noticed the internet exploding yesterday when all this happened, and decided to put an end to all the rumors by confirming the existence of the game and giving the news outlets a brief press release detailing the new entry in the franchise. And so far, with a single exception, things are looking good. The information released is as follows.

"Sonic the Hedgehog returns for a full-blown, action-packed adventure through the desolate and unpredictable World of Mubuz, a world dictated by an evil Dragon Lord, Immarius. Upon entering Muboz, Sonic fights an evil power which turns all the inhabitants into dangerous beasts.

-Become Wolf Sonic and fight enemies like never before using rapid combo maneuvers and Ring Energy
-Play as Sonic, Knuckles or Tails through 12 packed stages
Extensive 2D gameplay brings the old Sonic back home"

Even with that limited amount of info at hand, we can say it is good to hear that there will be no extraneous characters. Now remember that the only reason we have this info is due to a leak, so it's likely we won't hear anything more about this until nearly E3. And while we would have liked to have a more "old-fashioned" Sonic story (Robotnik should be bad guy #1) and don't really care for Wolf Sonic, we're willing to give it a try as long as it is blissfully free of anything like this.

 Dragon King? Does this mean I'm allowed to appear in the game? :P

This sounds kind of like it's gonna be another one of those Sonic games, which has good basic gameplay, but some crap extras (aka, wolf sonic) and a retarded storyline.

 So Robotnik isn't going to be a viable threat andwe get some new, stupid villian? And here I was, getting my hopes up... D: At least they don't seem to be adding any stupid characters that you have to have following you around the whole game. Wolf Sonic looks stupid. Why do they need to turn Sonic into a werewolf so that he can "rapid combo manuvers and Ring Energy?" Can't he do that already?

And LOL @ the pirate Sonic.

Wolf Sonic reminds me of Banjo the bear for some reason XD
