Yes, its finally here. The sequel to my other story. I have only 5 and 1/2 chapters made so far(school keeps me from writing, grrr...), and due to slight...problems, I decided to start posting chapters. Be warned; after Chapter 5, there may be...a good amount of waiting between chapters. Now sit back, relax, and enjoy Chapter 1. Bladearm: The Crows of Wrath --- Prologue Jez Kardbom’s dead, rusted body lay on a large metal table. The room was dark, and the only thing inside was the body. Suddenly, Kardbom’s fingers twitched, and with a sudden jolt his metal heart resumed pumping his oily blood. Instantly the Dark Jester’s eyes snapped open, and he sat up. He looked around. This was not his glorious throne room in his airborne castle! “Where the heck am I?” He snapped. “Ah, so it would appear you are awake, Jez…” Said a voice. Jez turned to see who had spoken, and despite his new body, recognized it instantly. “Simeta.” He growled. “Indeed.” Replied Simeta, wearing an amused smile. “Before you attempt to kill me, take your gaze to that corner over there.” Jez looked. In the corner was a perfect replica of his body, free of rust, dents, and broken limbs, of course. Jez gave Simeta a questioning glance. “You were defeated and killed. If something is not done, you will resume being dead within an hour. Your men have been arrested, and I am your last hope. Serve me, Kardbom, and I personally promise you you’ll get your own part of the planet to rule.” Simeta explained. Jez was silent, then nodded, wearing an angry frown on his face. “Excellent. Now stay still, Kardbom…I can’t promise your death will be painless if you don’t stay still.” Simeta said cheerfully. Jez’s eyes didn’t even have time to widen before Simeta killed him again. The instant he died, though, the duplicate body stood up. “Whoa.” said Jez’s voice from the new body. “It…It’s just like my old body!” “Yes. It will serve you well.” Simeta told the jester. “Sweet. Now, lets go kill Bladearm…!” The Dark Jester cheered. “Ah, ah, ah. Not just yet.” Simeta said, waving a finger as if scolding a child. “Unfortunately, my plan doesn’t call for an attack JUST yet. No. We must lie in wait, for a while…But do not worry, Kardbom…I promise we’ll destroy Sasu soon enough.” --- Chapter 1 Sasu winced at the glare in his eyes. He hadn’t seen the sun in quite a while…Or for that matter, anything above ground. For the past few months, Sasu and Flitora had been honing their Elemental skills, along with other skills, in the secret underground lair of the Chosen Order. But now, they were needed. In a distant continent known as Zaxx to its Natives, rumor was circulating that a village in the middle of nowhere had quite literally been completely wiped out. Since it was just a rumor, the Order decided to send Sasu, Flitora, and Nara to investigate. Following one of the Surface Tunnels leading out of the Orders hideout, they had emerged on the continent of Zaxx, approximately five miles from their destination. Sasu noted that the direction they were headed was up an icy peak. “Why exactly is there a village up here?” Sasu asked Nara curiously. Nara shrugged. “The Androids who live here just like ice, I guess.” As they headed up the mountain, Flitora noticed a large number of crows. “Uh…I may not speak Crow, but I’m pretty sure its unusual to see this many of them in one place, especially a frozen mountain.” He said. Nara nodded. “You’re right. I’ve never seen crows this far up the mountain. Something big must have happened.” They were silent for the rest of the hike. Once they arrived at the summit, they saw the rumor was true. Dead Androids littered the streets. The houses were destroyed. Everything was gone. “What on Mechanexx could’ve done THIS?” Exclaimed Sasu. “I have no idea. And that’s why we have to be cautious.” Nara growled. Flitora noticed something out of the corner of his eye. It seemed like a flicker of movement, and yet he couldn’t see anything…Then he blinked in the place he had seen movement, there had been, only moments before, what he had assumed was a large pile of snow. But now the pile was gone. “Guys, I think we got trouble…” He said, just as Sasu stepped on one of the snow piles. The instant he did, a large Reptilian creature burst out of the snow. It was white, with eyes and teeth made of black ice. It had icy spikes going down its sides and back. It resembled an Alligator. “Great.” Said Nara. “Snow Phantoms, just what I needed.” He raised his palm and a blast of fire hit the Snow Phantom. The creature let out a gurgling howl and dove into the snow. “C’mon guys! These things travel in packs, we’re better off retreating!” Snapped Nara, already running down the hillside. Sasu and Flitora followed without hesitation. “Man, I hate those things…” Grumbled Sasu as they ran. “But I thought they were scavengers!” called Flitora to Nara. “Why are they attacking us?” “It’s true that they normally only eat dead things,” Nara called back. “But they’ll attack and eat live creatures if provoked!” After he said this, both he and Flitora shot a quick glance at Sasu. Sasu scowled. “Oh, like its my fault I thought it was a pile of snow!” He shouted. He turned his head quickly. He saw what looked ripples in the snow following them, and there were at least 13 ripples. Sasu rolled his eyes. Thirteen Snow Phantoms. How fitting. “Pick up the pace, you two!” He yelled. “They’re catching up!” That was when the mountain shook. Now, in the village of Iceyard, the village our three heroes just visited, every Android child is raised to be quiet, and use ‘indoor voices’ everywhere. Why? Because every adult on the mountain knew that the mountain was unstable, and almost any loud noise could trigger an avalanche. But Sasu, Flitora, and Nara, having grown up on a different continent, in different villages, didn’t exactly know this. And all the yelling they were doing just happened to be enough to send a large avalanche hurtling down the mountain. “Oh, you HAVE TO BE KIDDING!” Sasu shouted to the heavens as he noticed the large wave of snow headed straight for them. Nara quickly ran into the tunnel, Sasu and Flitora following. They stood in the entrance, watching as a wave of the stuff flew down the mountain, carrying thirteen roaring, very unfortunate Snow Phantoms, and the wreckage of the village with it. “Maybe they would’ve had better luck if they traveled in a pack of 12.” Flitora joked. Nara and Sasu rolled their eyes in unison. “Oh, whatever…” Sasu said. “C’mon, we better go tell the others what we saw.” --- Eratine After traveling through the tunnels for several hours, the 3 Chosen had arrived at the cavern of Eratine, located below Mechanexx’s surface. Eratine had supposedly been created when the Universe was first born, a holy sanctuary for all. Unfortunately, after the Twilight Wars, the cavern had been abandoned, and the Chosen Order, now forced into secrecy, used it as a headquarters. Once there, they met up with the Chosen Orders acting leader, Faerix, the Chosen of Rock. “So, the whole village was massacred, and there was an odd number of crows, hm?” He rumbled in his ancient, gravelly voice. “That is very suspicious indeed…Flitora, Sasu, do you mind if I speak to Nara…Alone, for a while?” The two newest recruits nodded, gave a quick bow, and left the room. “…Well, do you think it could be him?” Faerix said when he was certain the two had left. “It…is a possibility.” Nara said hesitantly. “Blast it!” Faerix swore. “All the work we did to ensure he would never awake again…Wasted!” “Sir…If I may. I know you probably don’t want to hear this, but…Do you remember how the prophecy went…?” Nara interrupted. Faerix nodded. “Yes, it went that, on the condition that certain events come to pass, he would awake again.” “And do you remember what those events were?” Asked Nara. Faerix looked thoughtful. “Yes…If the World was conquered and…two new…chosen were born…” Faerix paled. “Oh no.” Nara nodded. “So, what you’re saying is, if he hasn’t woken YET, then…” Faerix asked worriedly. “Then he will be awake soon enough.” Nara confirmed. “And if that’s the case, our job may have just have gotten quite a bit more complicated.” |
